BRIGGS TRANSPORTATION COMPANY. Briggs Transportation became publicly owned in 1972. Based, in 1982, in St. Paul Minnesota, the trucking company had opened twenty-three new terminals in the preceding 1.5 years. The business served 3,571 communities from 62 terminals in 18 central, southern, and western stated. The Dubuque operation employed 11 people. (1)

Under a special purchase plan in 1982, 94% of the company's 1,272 employees bought up half of the company's total common stock. This provided the company with $920,000 in new capital. (2)

The 1968 through 1983 Dubuque City Directory listed 3232 Dodge.
