HONG KONG TEA COMPANY. Opened in January 1895, the company reportedly chose to use the money usually spent in one year's advertising for a one month promotion. The "pitch" was that "souvenir diamonds, rubies, sapphires and other articles of lesser value" would be included in some "caddies" of tea sold for $1.00. Not every caddies had a prize. A long list of winners was listed. The store was located at 630 Main Street. (1)

The departure of the company was announced on March 1, 1895. (2)
