DAN RICE CIRCUS. The Dan Rice Circus appeared in Dubuque in July, 1877. At the time the news reported on his erecting a soldiers' memorial for $20,000 and his many appearances on behalf of churches and charities. (1)

Scheduled for Dubuque in June, 1936, the Dan Rice Circus featured a 12-year old lion tamer among other performers. (2)
