DUBUQUE EXPOSITION OF PROGRESS
DUBUQUE EXPOSITION OF PROGRESS. Organized by the DUBUQUE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE for one week beginning on August 17, 1925, the event was described as "teeming with the very latest examples of progression in the industrial and mercantile world."
The operation was conducted by the Henry B. Marks Exposition of Chicago. Harry Greenway, manager, described the working with local manufacturers, jobbers, and dealers to "demonstrate their faith in the future of Dubuque and its trade radius." In addition the company would offer an amusement program "that is surprisingly good and clean." No gambling devices of any kind were allowed. One day would be devoted to choosing the most beautiful head of red hair on any female between "16 and 113." Eight vaudeville acts were on the program.
