KENO F. In 1896 the famed troller owned by Mayor Peter OLINGER was sold by Charley Thompson of Independence to a New York man. Thompson was called by the man who thought Thompson owned the horse. Olinger closed the deal with Olinger.

Olinger heard of horse after Keno F. had posted a time of 2:37 at a mile track in Oelwein. The horse who owned by a man in Bremer County who was anxious to sell. The following spring, Keno posted a time of 2:30. The horse, trained by Charley Thompson, won all the western circuits and then was entered in the Flour City stakes in Rochester, New York winning $10,000 with a pace of 2:17.5.

At private trials in Independence, the horse posted a 2:12 pace.
