LOUNGE (THE)
LOUNGE (THE). The Lounge was opened by Phil and Mary Love on February 1, 1980. They had previously operated the FINALE LOUNGE for ten years. In an article about the couple in July 2016, it was mentioned that nearly 470 mugs from around the world hung from hooks in their business. Given to the couple by friends over the years, the collection began after Phil hung a cup over one end of the new bar. (1)
The bar closed on December 17, 2016 with former customers now living as far away as Daytona Beach, Florida in attendance.
The 1982 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 481 Locust.
