LATTNER, Paul. (Unknown-Lattnerville, IA, 1891). Lattnerville, west of Dubuque, was named in his honor. Lattner worked with his brothers on the construction of the ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD between Dubuque and Independence, Iowa.

Upon completing his work, Lattner settled in the community named for him and introduced beekeeping to eastern Iowa. He is said to have had as many as two hundred beehives.
