GIBBS, R. J. (Unknown--Dubuque, Mar. 1875). R.J. Gibbs came to Dubuque in 1857. He was in charge of putting in the Dubuque water works and was extensively engaged in the grain business for many years. He shipped the first car load of grain over the ILLINOIS CENTRAL RAILROAD from the city.
