PEACOCK, Robert. (Dubuque, IA, Sept. 18, 1955--Perry, GA, December 5, 2015) The son of Ivan B. and Marjorie E. (Young) Peacock, Robert graduated from STEPHEN HEMPSTEAD HIGH SCHOOL in 1973 and married Diane Ellerbach on October 4, 1975 at ST. ANTHONY CATHOLIC CHURCH. (1)

In 1978 Peacock began his career working as an accountant for the Keystone Area Education Agency. He later served as the agency's president. In 1980 he joined ROSHEK'S DEPARTMENT STORE which became ARMSTRONG'S DEPARTMENT STORE as a store general manager. He was elected president of the Kennedy Mall Merchants Association. Peacock earned an Associated Degree in Accounting from the Northeast Iowa Community College and in 1995 a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from CLARKE COLLEGE. Peacock was graduate of the Iowa School of Banking and a Certified Anti Money-Laundering Specialist. In 2015 Peacock served as an executive vice president and director of compliance and risk management at AMERICAN TRUST AND SAVINGS BANK. (2)

Outside of banking, Peacock was active in the area. He served as a former member of the city council in Asbury and was a past chairman of the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE. In the latter role, he hosted over eighty ribbon cuttings, established the annual diversity summit and led efforts to increase American Airline flights into the regional airport. Peacock also served as a United Way chairman and board member of the Boy Scouts of American Northeast Iowa Council. In 2010 after a disastrous earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Peacock raised pledges of over $18,000 for food relief He served as a guest conductor of the DUBUQUE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA in 2014 after raising the most funds during that organization's Pursuit of the Podium contest.
