JOHNSON, John R. (Dubuque, IA, July 30, 1936--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 21, 2015) The son of Kenneth and Viola (Welu) Johnson, John graduated from St. Columbkille school and served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1956. He married Mary Jo Richter on February 15, 1958 at ST. RAPHAEL'S CATHEDRAL.

John was employed for many years at Apple River Chemical, retiring as a supervisor for IMC Global (now Rentech) in 1998. He was a member of UAW Local 1391 and served as its president.

John was a founding member of the Eagle Point Walleye Club.
