ZANGMEISTER, Jakob. (Bavaria, Germany, Nov. 7, 1838-Dubuque, IA, Aug. 9, 1903). Grocer. Zangmeister came to the United States in 1858 and moved to Dubuque where he opened one of the city's first grocery stores. At the time of his death, Zangmeister was Dubuque's oldest grocer.
