POOLE, Horace. (Danvers, MA, Dec. 18, 1837--Dubuque, IA, Feb. 16, 1916). Poole came to Iowa in 1859 and settled in Dubuque. He enlisted and fought in the CIVIL WAR and then returned to Dubuque.

In 1870 POOLE, GILLIAM & CO., jobbers and wholesale dealers in fancy groceries, teas, syrups, canned goods, fruits, tobaccos and cigars was opened at 272 Main Street.
