RHOMBERG, Roger J. (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 29, 1926--Dubuque, IA, Mar. 29, 2000). Recipient of the first FIRST CITIZEN AWARD from the TELEGRAPH HERALD (1970). Rhomberg, owner of RHOMBERG FURRIERS, served on the board of directors of FIRST NATIONAL BANK OF DUBUQUE and Dubuque Thrift Plan, Inc. He was president of the Dubuque Industrial Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and DUBUQUE BOYS' CLUB, as well as chairperson of the Dubuque Citizens Advisory Commission, Dubuque County March of Dimes, and the Dubuque United Fund. In 1970 Rhomberg received the Distinguished Civic Service Award from the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
