CHALMERS, William G. (Hamilton, OH- ). President, UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE. In June 1967, Chalmers, known for his inter-faith dialogue and interest in young people with emotional illness, became the eighth president of the university. He succeeded Dr. Gaylord M. COUCHMAN who won election to the city council. Chalmers announced his resignation in January 1970.
