Burchett, Clara. (Onida, SD-- ). Educator. Born one hundred miles west of where Laura Ingalls Wilder fought prairie fires, blizzards, and grasshoppers, Burchett brought frontier living to life for hundreds of people in one hour programs based on Wilder stories presented to audiences in schools and libraries. A past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, Burchett lectured on the development of oral history and offered workshops through the Keystone Area Education Agency. She taught at IRVING ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
