WALSH, John. (Dubuque, IA- ). State Senator. Walsh was' elected to the Iowa Senate in 1966. He defeated Andrew Frommelt for the 25th District seat in 1970, but an Iowa Supreme Court decision cut his term of office to two years and later legal action redrew the 10th District.

He worked actively to secure Amtrak service to Dubuque and participated in the transportation task force of the Dubuque Chamber of Commerce. Walsh was also recognized locally for his strong work on behalf of the Tri-County Board of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Fautsch Alcoholism Treatment Center.
