TORBERT, Williard H. (Camden, NY, 1845-- ). Pharmacist. Torbert came West to Dubuque in 1864. The drug business he carried on was established by Timothy Mason, in 1837. He was succeeded in the business by P.C. Sampson. Torbert was a partner of Mr. Sampson and succeeded him in the business. He carried on both a wholesale and retail business and established a large trade extending through Iowa in Minnesota, Nebraska, Dakota, Illinois and Wisconsin.
