RATH, George C. (Dubuque, IA, Apr. 5, 1851-Unknown). Owner, Rath and Company. Rath, a son of George John RATH, purchased the Dubuque meat packing operation from his brother Edward F. Rath and his father. Edward and his cousin, in 1890. He then moved the company to Waterloo, Iowa.

Rath brought his sons S. J. Rath and David into the company in 1900 and 1906 respectively to form the firm of George C. Rath and Sons. This partnership lasted until George C. Rath's death.
