GUTER, Lawrence J. (Rev.). (Waverly, IA- ). First principal, WAHLERT CATHOLIC HIGH SCHOOL. Guter, principal of Wahlert High School for sixteen years following its opening, resigned in 1975 to become the principal and executive coordinator of Beckman High School in Dyersville, Iowa. A graduate of LORAS COLLEGE, Guter taught religion and history from 1945 until 1953. Receiving his master's degree, he taught history and served as dean of the seminary department at Loras until 1956.
