FRITH, Thomas E. (Chatham, England, Jan. 9, 1815--Jan. 24, 1907). Frith emigrated to the United States in 1841 and settled in Dubuque in 1857. He entered the liquor business for a short time and later operated a meat market. This was a profitable business and he was the market master for the city.

In 1859 Frith established the FRITH RENDERING WORKS at EAGLE POINT. He operated this business the rest of his life.
