TASTE OF DUBUQUE. In its second year, the 1997 Taste of Dubuque was presented by the NATIONAL MISSISSIPPI RIVER MUSEUM AND AQUARIUM and sponsored by the DIAMOND JO CASINO. An estimated 10,000 people were attracted by the twenty vendors who were matched with non-profit groups that benefited from the event. Performers included Dick Spautz and Dixieland; Nat Love; Catch III; Jelly, the Clown; Big Time Puppets; Salsa Band; Blue Band; and clog dancers. Children were entertained with face painting and animals made from balloons.

The event remained an annual event.
