GOLD LEAF GOLD MINE. Located twenty miles west of Prescott, Arizona, the mine was discovered by a man named Riley who had been financially supported for two years by two men named Walker and Rhomberg. Riley sank a shaft into a crevice 6,000 feet long and four feet wide. The ore brought up from the digging was valued at from $33 to $161 per ton.

Joseph K. KAUFMANN traveled to Arizona to represent the interest of the Dubuque stockholders and supervise the mining operation.
