CLARK ROLLER AWNING COMPANY. Established in 1900, the Clark Roller Awning Company was the first company of its type in the United States. Located at 139-145 2nd Street, the company manufactured tents, canopies, canvass hammocks, sacks, and national and foreign flags. The company also sold twine, rope, camp and lawn furniture, campers' and hunters' outfits and cooking utensils.

The 1909 Dubuque City Directory gave the address of this business as 224-228 Iowa.

The 1911-12 through the 1922 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business was located at 220-248 Iowa.
