LUBCK, Louis C. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 2, 1860--Dubuque, IA, Oct. 7, 1933). Lubck, in association with John Smith and M. M. Walker, purchased the Evening Globe in 1892. He then reorganized the Globe Printing Company and published the paper. This continued until another reorganization resulted in the emergence of the Smith-Morgan Printing Company that published the Times-Journal.

Lubck sold his interest in the paper soon after the second reorganization and, with William Steuck, purchased the Union Printing Company. Lubck was an active member of the Republican Party and served several terms as chairman of the County Central Committee.
