PICKUP, George
PICKUP, George. (Dubuque (?)--Columbus, OH, Mar. 24, 1953). An employee of ADAMS COMPANY (Encyclopedia Dubuque) since the age of fourteen, Pickup drove one of the company's cars in an endurance contest between Chicago, Illinois and Minneapolis, Minnesota placing third.
He left Dubuque at an early age and at the time of his death held over one hundred patents in his name.
