The 1867 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business, known as Bale & Co., was located at the same address.
The 1868-69 through 1883 Dubuque City Directory stated that this business, renamed John Bale, could be found on the north side of 8th between Main and Iowa. He was also listed as a gas and steam pipe fitter at the same address.
