During his career he was also an assistant coach in basketball, football, and track. Nora began his teaching career in Dubuque in 1923. In the early 1940s boys in Nora's gym classes ran obstacle courses and practiced marching in preparation for military service.

Nora left high school teaching in 1966 and devoted two years to developing physical education courses at the elementary level in Dubuque. He retired in 1968.

James Nora

NORA, James. (Iron Mountain, MI,- ). Educator. Nora, a longtime respected staff member at DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL, coached the 1954 Senior High baseball team to the state championship.
