With the retirement of Ott in 1906, the company was continued by Meuser who also operated several retail yards. The Peter J. Seippel Lumber Company and the Meuser Lumber Company merged in 1908 with Meuser serving as president. SEIPPEL, Meuser established the firm of Meuser-Seippel Lumber Company, a wholesale and retail lumber business in East Dubuque, Illinois.
