DEININGER, George. (Wausau, WI, May 31, 1923- ). Secretary-Treasurer, The Durrant Group, Inc. In 1950 Deininger became the third person to join the architectural firm of Durrant and Berquist now known as The Durrant Group, Inc. Active in civic matters, Deininger held memberships in the United Way, GIRL SCOUTS' Board of Directors, Chamber of Commerce, and Dubuque Main Street Ltd. He served as a member of the president's council for [[CLARKE COLLEGE]] and the [[UNIVERSITY OF DUBUQUE]]. As chairman of Dubuque's transit board, Deininger headed efforts to organize the bus system. He also served on the board of adjustment when the city building code was rewritten. Deininger was a member of the delegation that successfully lobbied in Washington, D.C., for the construction of the [[FLOODWALL]].
