SILVER STAR LODGE. The local branch of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen was organized on April 1 and 2, 1921 in the Eagles' Hall and named the Silver Star Lodge. Formed for the purpose of uniting the families of the brotherhood of railroad trainmen. the organization aimed at promoting their welfare socially, morally and intellectually. There were forty-two charter members.
By 1930 there were seventy-eight members with most coming from Dubuque. Other cities with representatives included Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, Sioux City, East Dubuque, Galena, Marquette, and McGregor.
