BAKER, Frances McNear (Wiscasset, ME, Aug. 30, 1839--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 25, 1917). The first organizational meeting to plan [[MOUNT PLEASANT HOME]] was held in her residence near First Congregational Church on 10th Street. She was a charter member of the board of directors of Mount Pleasant Home and held the position of corresponding secretary for forty years.
