INTERSTATE PIPE & SUPPLY COMPANY. Ralph Weis began the company in 1960 at Jones & Terminal Street. The company supplied industrial piping, valves, fittings, tools and allied equipment. (1) The company was moved in 1968 to 200 Railroad Avenue.
Interstate distributed pipe, valves, fittings and industrial supplies to mechanical contractors, industries and utilities of Dubuque and the surrounding area. In 1976 Interstate was the largest distributor of grinding wheels and overhead handling equipment in the area.
The 1964 and 1966 Dubuque City Directory listed the corner of Jones St. and Terminal.
The 1972 through 1993 Dubuque City Directory listed 200 Railroad Avenue.
