CHEWNING, (Harry) Leslie. (Platteville, WI, June 28, 1875--Dubuque, IA, January 28, 1937). A professional musician for many years, Leslie Chewning was associated with many Dubuque dance orchestras. His favorite instruments were the violin and clarinet.
Leslie and his brother Charles CHEWNING developed the CHEWNING BROS. ORCHESTRA. Leslie was also the director of the CHEWNING-STUBER ORCHESTRA.
Leslie retired from the music business in 1928 and went to work for the KLAUER MANUFACTURING COMPANY.
