WELU, Peter D. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 23, 1910--Asbury, IA, Aug. 24, 1994). Director. Welu served on the board of directors of the Asbury Fire Department for twenty-five years.  He also served on the Asbury School Board and was a charter member of the Dubuque County Conservation Society beginning in 1933.  From the age of fourteen until his retirement in 1975, Welu was a printing pressman at several local businesses in Dubuque.
