MINDFRAME THEATERS. An independent movie theater in Dubuque for nearly ten years, Mindframe Theaters was located at the rear of KENNEDY MALL. Prior to the opening of Mindframe in 2008, the theater had been operated by Carmike Cinemas Inc. for nearly twenty years.
Over the years, the owners began a crowd-funding campaign to upgrade the seating. An upgrade to digital projectors was required by an industry-wide mandate.
On December 24, 2017 theater owners announced that the theater would close after January 1, 2018.
