He subsequently served as county attorney from January 1, 1953 through December 31, 1962.  Oeth practiced law in Des Moines until his retirement in 1989.

Oeth, Robert. (Dubuque, IA, Oct. 6, 1921--Des Moines, IA, Nov. 24, 1989). A graduate of the Drake University College of Law, Oeth began the practice of law in Dubuque in October 1949.

He served as a state representative from January 1, 1951 until December 31, 1952. He subsequently served as county attorney from January 1, 1953 through December 31, 1962. Oeth practiced law in Des Moines until his retirement in 1989.
