RANDALL, Job Sherman.(Washington Co., NY, 1816-Aug., 1891). In association with Christopher PELAN, Randall bought Dubuque's first sawmill which had been constructed in 1847 by the Gibbs Brothers. The mill had an annual capacity of three million feet of lumber. The Pelan and Randall Company remained in operation until February 14,1877, when Randall bought Pelan's share of the company from his estate.
