HANSEN, Nicholas. (Luxemburg, Germany, Feb. 24, 1834--Apr. 15, 1889). Hansen emigrated to Dubuque in 1853 and became a clerk in a grocery. He opened his own grocery in 1872. In 1880 he was a partner in the firm of HANSEN AND LINEHAN, wholesale grocers, railroad and steamboat supplies, at No. 8 Levee. This business continued until the death of Hansen in 1889.
He married Miss Annie Welther, from Luxemburg, Germany on February 20, 1861; they had one daughter-Annie Katie.
