Sonia did volunteer work with the [[COLTS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS.]] When the Colt Cadets formed in 1967, she became the group's first director assisted by members of the “A Corps.” Later, Sonia did major fund-raising for the Colts.

HICKSON, Sonia Kopple. (Dubuque, IA, Sept. 7, 1929--Dubuque, IA, Dec. 29, 2014) The daughter of Harry KOPPLE and Goldye (Folkman) Kopple, Sonia graduated from DUBUQUE SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and attended the University of Northern Iowa. She married Thomas L. Hickson on January 9, 1951, in Chicago. He died on May 11, 1974.
