STAMMEYER, Virgil. (Stacyville, IA- ). Member, Iowa State Patrol. In 1990 Stammeyer became the third officer from Dubuque shot in the line of duty. Then within days of retirement, he was in pursuit of a suspect driving north from Maquoketa.
