CARBERRY HOUSE. Featured in the 25th Annual Dubuque Old House Enthusiasts Tour, the home was constructed between 1880 and 1885 and originally owned by Frank Carberry, editor of the Commercial Times. Carberry once rented all the upstairs bedrooms to mail carriers. The doors and transoms to each room could locked from inside the room to protect the mail.

Captain Samuel Edwards lived in the home until his death in 1922. Edwards had great faith in river transportation and was a leader in the development of the ICE HARBOR.
