BAKER, David. (Dubuque, IA, Aug. 8, 1957--  ). President, Teamsters Union Local 421.  In 1992 Baker became president of Teamsters Union Local 421. He had previously worked as a wholesale food distributor for Continental-Hoxie Inc. from 1975 to 1976, [[DUBUQUE PACKING COMPANY]] from 1976 to 1978 and Flynn Ready-Mix Concrete Company from 1978 to 1990. He served as the union business agent in 1991.

Baker's other civic activities included being a member of the Iowa Conference of Teamsters and Teamsters Joint Council 45; vice chairman, [[DUBUQUE AREA LABOR-MANAGEMENT COUNCIL]]; and a board member of the United Way of Dubuque, Dubuque Community School District Foundation, Greater Dubuque Development Corporation, and the Dubuque Area Labor Harvest.  He was a member of the Dubuque Building & Construction Trades Council, United Labor Participation Committee, and the Dubuque Fast-Pitch Softball Hall of Fame.
