LEOPOLD, Donovan O. ("Don") (Lincoln, NB, 1926-Sun City, AZ, Jan. 15, 1987). Leopold served as the executive director, N.E. Iowa Council of the BOY SCOUTS of America (1950-1959). One of the region's most decorated scouting officials, he received the Silver Beaver Award for volunteer scouting in 1967.
Leopold also received the Jaycee's Al Dupont Award for community service and leadership. In 1976, he received the International Golden Coin Award as co-author of Dubuque Folklore. In 1983 he was presented with the Distinguished Civic Service Award by the DUBUQUE AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.
