ALTHAUSER, Jacob. (Baden, Germany, Dec. 29, 1833--Seattle, WA, June 2, 1913). Althauser came to Dubuque from Germany in 1854. He learned his trade here and opened his business as a cooper at 2316 Couler Avenue in 1860.
