HESS, John. (Wurtemburg, Germany, Mar. 13, 1832-- ). Hess emigrated to the United States in September, 1850, and lived in the city of New York five years. He moved to Chicago in 1855 and carried on business there nineteen years and was burned out, on State Street, in 1874.
Hess came to Dubuque in 1874 and established the DUBUQUE SHOWCASE FACTORY.
