HOME-SCHOOL ASSOCIATION. The organization was founded as an aid to the priests and sisters in charge of parochial and private schools. The primary purpose was ensuring that Catholic parents and teachers worked together. The parents gained a knowledge of the academic background of the child and the teacher through contact with the parents became familiar with the home environment of the student.

The Home-School Associations in 1955 functioned only with the permission of the pastor in charge of the school. The officers of the Association consisted of the spiritual director, president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer and a board of directors. The term of office was one year and no officer could hold the same office for more than two consecutive years.
