SCHREMPF, Edward. (East Dubuque, IL, Sept. 3, 1861--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 14, 1939). Schrempf was by trade a cigar maker and was employed for many years by JOSEPH MICHEL. Schrempf later opened his own cigar manufacturing business, EDWARD SCHREMPF, which featured the "Dubuque Booster" cigar.
Schrempf first entered public life as president of the DUBUQUE TRADES AND LABOR CONGRESS, a position he held for several terms. While serving in this position he was elected in 1922 to the city council for seven years.
