The 1868-69 Dubuque City Directory listed a bar on the west side of Couler at the head of 27th.
The 1873-74 Dubuque City Directory listed a brewery on Couler and 28th.
The Dubuque Herald reported on July 22, 1873 that the company had been dissolved. Suess left the business and his interest was purchased by his partner.
