KIES, Peter J. (St. Donatus, IA, Jan. 10, 1886--Dubuque, IA, Jan. 31, 1962). County Auditor.  A deputy assessor and accountant in the early 1920s, Kies was elected county auditor and served from January 1, 1925, to 1937.  He resigned to take a position as chairman of the Iowa State Employment Compensation Commission.  Upon his resignation, [[DAYKIN, Allen T.|Allen T. DAYKIN]] was appointed to succeed him.

He resigned to take a position as chairman of the Iowa State Employment Compensation Commission. Upon his resignation, Allen DAYKIN was appointed to succeed him.
