MILLER, Elmer John. (Dubuque, IA, June 3, 1900--Dubuque, IA, Nov. 3, 1964). County Assessor. The first person appointed as a county assessor, Miller served in the office from its creation in 1948 until his death.  Prior to that, he was employed as a deputy assessor in the county auditor's office under [[KIES, Peter J.|Peter J. KIES]] and was the first deputy assessor under [[DAYKIN, Allen|Allen DAYKIN]].
